Dr. Curran has worked in production and environmental management in the food industry for a number of years before joining UCD as a staff member. His research interests include the measurement, abatement and dispersion modelling of odour and other gases (e.g. ammonia, hydrogen sulphide) from the agrifood and waste management industries. His work also incorporates food waste (fat, oil and grease (FOG)), sustainable water management systems (water footprinting), and the application of ozone for microbial deactivation in biological materials.
