Organisation or Individual Expertise:
Dr Devlin\'s current research interests include the modelling and supply chain optimisation of biomass and biofuels together with engine, driver and fuel performance within the area of GHG emissions in the transport sector to develop a concept of carbon friendly routing stratgies for supply and demand for biomass based applications such as co-firing or lignocellulosic feedstocks for biofuels. He is Ireland¿s representative on COST Action FP0902 - \"Development and Harmonization of new operational research and assessment procedures for sustainable forest biomass supply.\" For this action he was also appointed the Short Term Scientific Mission (STSM) manager which oversees the application and awarding of research grants for researchers to conduct short study missions in Universities and research institutes through Europe as well as Canada, USA, New Zealand, Japan, Russia, Australia and South Africa. He is also Ireland\'s representative on the International Energy Association (IEA) Task 43 - \"BioEnergy from biomass feedstocks.\" Dr Devlin currently has in excess of 40 publications that include peer review papers, 1 book and book chapters in the areas of biomass supply chains and logistics, biomass for energy markets, LCA, pyrolysis of biomass for liquid fuels and supply chain optimisation. He is reviewer for several peer review journals including Fuel Processing Technology, Transportation Research Part D, Journal of Transport Geogrpahy, International Journal of Forest Engineering, Journal of Forest Energy, Canadian Journal of Forest Research and ASABE to name a few.
