I am a post-doctoral researcher in the Socio-Economic Marine Research Unit (SEMRU) at NUI Galway. My research interests include bioeconomic modelling, fisheries economics and management and ecosystem good and services, the direct and indirect valuation of Ireland's ocean economy, the regional socio-economic analysis of coastal areas. I am currently involved in the Interreg funded MARNET project that is developing a methodology to create and collate comparable marine socio-economic data across the Atlantic regions and to use this data to support marine socio economic development initiatives along the Atlantic Area. I have been involved in FP6 project PROTECT as well as two multidisciplinary FP7 projects; CoralFISH and HERMIONE.
