I an environmental economist and social scientist with an interest in the natural environment. My main areas of work have been in the fields of environmental economic and social-cultural valuation, environmental impact assessment, ecosystem services, climate change impacts and adaptation, forestry, planning, recreation and landscape. Funded research gas included the European Framework projects OPERAs (ecosystem services oprationalisation), GREENSPACE (European coordinator urban open spaces) and EU COST Action (ToBeWell tourism, ecosystem services and well-being). Nationally funded projects on environmental liability and ecosystem services valuation (Ecorisk, DEHLG), climate adaptation (ADAPT), peatlands (BOGLAND), environmental communication (RelayRisk), forest ecosytems (EcoValue), forest values (FORECON), quality of life and urban rural housing. Commercial projects (Optimize) on cultural and natural heritage valuation, green infrastructure, native woodlands, climate change and wilderness.
