Dr. Celine McInerney is a Lecturer in the Department of Accounting, Finance and Information Systems, at University College Cork (UCC) where she specialises in corporate finance, investments, capital markets and investment appraisal. Celine is also a Principal Investigator with UCC's Environmental Research Institute. Her main research interests are in investment appraisal, investment in renewable energy assets, real options, carbon liabilities, impact of carbon on cost of debt, regulated returns, and cost of capital, community investment in renewables and fossil fuel lock in. She is working on a number of EPA-funded projects; one on "Financial Incentives for a Resource Efficient Irish Economy" which is exploring different policy supports to increase investment in renewable, low carbon and resource efficient assets. Another EPA-funded project titled "Fossil Fuel Lock in in Ireland - How Much Value is at Risk?". She is also working on a Irish Research Council funded project titled "Financialisation of Agricultural Future Markets". Particular expertise in finance, accounting, taxation, valuation, energy systems modelling, investment appraisal, carbon markets, community investment, value at risk, fossil fuel risk, stranded asset risk Celine has significant finance industry experience. Prior to joining University College Cork (UCC) as a finance lecturer in 2009 she spent twelve years working as a corporate finance advisor. Her last position in industry was as Director of Corporate Finance at boutique corporate finance advisor Merrion Capital where she focused on the energy sector. Prior to this she spent three years working for Ireland’s largest private wind farm developer Southwestern Services where she was responsible for acquisitions and equity fundraising. Previously she worked in mergers and acquisitions at Deutsche Morgan Grenfell and Lehman Brothers in London and New York. Celine has also held position at Consensus Economics, Credit Lyonnais, Guinness Ireland and Trinity College Dublin.
