Funding Call Text or Description:
We are delighted to announce that our Research Call for 2016 is now open.
Check out our website for all of the details you need (see link 1. below)
Funding will be awarded under the following headings:
• Climate
• Water (see link 2. below)
• Green Enterprise
This year, the value of the research to be awarded under these headings is €6.39 million.
We do not anticipate having a new call for proposals under the Sustainability Pillar in 2016. However it is expected that a number of projects placed on a reserve list following the exceptionally competitive 2015 Sustainability call will be offered funding in 2016.
Full details of the call and the documents can be found on our website (see link 3. below) and all applications must be made through our SmartSimple grant management system. (see link 4. below)
The Indicative time frame for both the Climate and Water call is as follows:
• 20th May 2016: Call Opening
• 24th June 2016 (5pm): Deadline for queries relating to the technical contents of this call
• 1st July 2016 (5pm): Deadline for submission of applications by applicants
• 15th July 2016 (5pm): Organisation Approval Deadline for authorisation by Research Offices
• July/September 2016: Evaluation Process
• September/October 2016: Negotiation
• November/December 2016: Grant Award of Successful Projects

The EPA’s Research Programme 2014-2020 is designed to identify pressures, inform policy and develop solutions to environmental challenges through the provision of strong evidence-based scientific knowledge:
• Identifying Pressures: Providing assessments of current environmental status and future trends to identify pressures on our environment.
• Informing Policy: Generating evidence, reviewing practices and building models to inform policy development and implementation.
• Developing Solutions: Using novel technologies and methods that address environmental challenges and provide green economy opportunities
