The web-interface on DROPLET has been developed to be very user friendly and easy to use. However to help users get the most out of DROPLET we have developed a User-Guide which provides a user-manual type over view of DROPLET.

How was DROPLET developed?

DROPLET has been developed in-house by the Environmental Protection Agency. While the exact IT specifications will not be of interest to most users we feel that it is useful to provide some details. DROPLET has been developed using PHP and uses an SQLITE database as the back-end database application. The web-interface has been developed to be responsive across all devices and screen-sizes. Twitter Bootstrap has been used as the front-end framework. JQuery is used to provide some additional Javascript functionality. Finally, Leaflet is used to provide simple, yet powerful, open source mapping web-based functionality.

Can I signup for a DROPLET account?

Please Note! All account signups are subject to manual verification by the EPA and DROPLET Administrators. You will be notified by email when your account signup has been verified.

Do I need to logon to use DROPLET?

You do not need to signup for an account to browse DROPLET. Almost all of the project information stored in DROPLET is publicly accessible. An authorised account is required if you wish to add content to DROPLET.

Could we add information from our organisation to DROPLET?

If your organisation has funded, co-funded or otherwise supported water or environmental research then this information could be suitable for addition to DROPLET. You should use the contact information above to connect with us in regards to having this information added to DROPLET

DROPLET is not displaying correctly on my browser/device

The web-interface on DROPLET has been developed to be responsive across all devices and screen-sizes. It has undergone extensive testing before it was released and made available to the public. If you have encountered a problem - please let us know by using the contact information above. Please describe the problem and where/when it occured while using DROPLET. The EPA will attempt to fix problems on DROPLET quickly to resolve such issues. However we cannot extend technical support to issues specific to a users own device or platform. We recommend that users always have the most up-to-date software installed on their device or platform.

DROPLET is not displaying correctly on Internet Explorer

The web-interface on DROPLET has been developed to be responsive across all devices and screen-sizes. It has undergone extensive testing before it was released and made available to the public. Versions of Internet Explorer older than Version 9 will have difficulty supporting some of DROPLET's display functionality. If you have encountered a problem - please let us know by using the contact information above. Please describe the problem and where/when it occured while using DROPLET. The EPA will attempt to fix problems on DROPLET related to Internet Explorer in general but support cannot be extended to very old browsers such as Internet Explorer 7 or Internet Explorer 8. We recommend that users always have the most up-to-date software installed on their device or platform and take appropriate precautions in regards to backing up precious or sensitive data or software before making system changes.
