Project Abstract | The CAPRI (Common Agricultural Policy Regionalised Impact) model is a spatial economic model that is widely used to support European decision making related to the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) as well as the modelling of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions from agriculture. This project aims to improve how the model represents GHG emissions, together with developing a new representation of Ireland at a more disaggregated regional level than is currently the case. It will also enhance the expert capacity within Ireland to utilize this very influential model for policy analysis. The enhanced version of the model will be used to evaluate various agricultural policy scenarios and their potential impact on GHG emissions, thereby making an important contribution to policy analysis and policy formation both within Ireland and the wider European Union. |
